Senior UI/UX Designer
Tarides is a tech start-up founded in Paris in 2018 by pioneers of programming languages and cloud computing. Tarides develops a software infrastructure platform to deploy secure, distributed applications with strict resource constraints and low-latency performance requirements. Today, Tarides is composed of a diverse team of 70+ people.
Tarides has been part of the Founder program of Station F in 2018 (6% acceptance rate) and has been selected in France within “Concours d’Innovation i-Lab” organized by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in partnership with Bpifrance (15% acceptance rate). This national contest awards company creation and innovative technologies. Tarides was also recognized during the FIC 2020 fair (International Cybersecurity Forum), the leading European cybersecurity event. These awards acknowledge the innovation of the solutions developed by Tarides and emphasize the interest from the cybersecurity community
At Tarides, we work on a lot of open-source projects. We maintain a good number of the OCaml ecosystem projects and their websites, such as the OCaml website (https://ocaml.org/), the MirageOS website (https://mirage.io/), the Irmin website (https://irmin.org/), and much more.
We’re looking for a senior designer to help us bring the design and user experience of the websites we maintain to the highest standards and make the OCaml ecosystem shine in the scene of programming languages. The OCaml website will be the main project, but you will also be responsible for designing the other community websites we’re maintaining.
As the first designer at Tarides, you will have a lot of flexibility on everything design, and we’ll trust you to work independently.
Here are some of the projects you could be working on:
Design a monitoring dashboard for OCaml.org
Design an online text editor for OCaml.org
Re-design or improve some pages of OCaml.org
Design a status page for the opam package manager
Design a continuous integration pipeline dashboard for OCaml projects
You’ll also work on:
Interview users to understand how they use the websites and get insights on improving the user experience
Collaborate with frontend developers to implement the designs you create
Audit the websites to identify improvements on the UI/UX
Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrable experience leading design projects.
Excellent knowledge of UI/UX requirements.
Excellent knowledge of design and prototyping software (we use Figma)
Good knowledge of Accessibility requirements.
Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 is a plus, but not required.
Excellent communication skills in English; English is the corporate language
Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams
