People Partner

Work

Since 2018, we have worked closely with our open-source and commercial partners, successfully forging solid relationships built on trust, delivery, and impact (0-70+ people in the last four years). Recently, we created new departments to continue our growth.

While growing, we aim to provide a supportive and caring work environment for all of our people, employees, freelancers, and across all locations.

We deeply value the following:

  • Diversity: we have an international team with 15 different nationalities, and 50% of women in the leadership team

  • Work-life balance: we offer an additional two weeks paid during summer, mental health resources, and support

  • Collaboration: we co-create all of our HR processes with our people

We want to reinforce our efforts in supporting everyone in our organisation to bring our People function to the next level. As such, we are looking for a People Partner to be the key point of contact for half of our team members.

As a People Partner, you will report to Héloïse, our Head of HR. You will work closely with Nawal, your future teammate, and our Engineering, Services, and Corporate departments. You will be one of the first members of our HR department and will therefore have the opportunity to help us build and improve our current organisation, processes, and tools.

In this role, you will accompany our people across the entire work lifecycle, from hiring to offboarding.

Key Responsibilities

You will be the key HR point of contact for a subset of our people, and as such, you will:

  • Be the key point of contact for the entire HR lifecycle for your population: onboarding, hiring, weeklies and feedback, promotion, internal mobility, learning and development, and offboarding

  • Manage our hiring process from needs gathering to contract negotiation

  • Manage our HR operations - legal components from drafting contracts to work visas, any HR policy implementation, and follow up

  • Gather people's training needs, participate in the training plan and handle training registration

  • Contribute to the feedback and promotion process

  • Participate in the payroll and compensation process

Qualifications & Experience

(You don’t have to fill 100% of the qualifications to apply.)

  • You have prior experience in HR, preferably HR Operations or as an HR generalist

  • You are keen to contribute to developing a people-first culture

  • You like supporting people in their career journey

  • You can maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgement

  • You are proactive and organised

  • You have experience working with multidisciplinary and international teams

  • You have good written and spoken English and French (our corporate language is English). We can offer language lessons to support you if needed

  • Flexibility to work remotely

  • International team with 15 different nationalities

  • Fantastic health insurance, fully covered by Tarides for you and your family

  • Two weeks off in addition to the basic legal provision

  • Bonus scheme based on profit sharing

  • Gym subscription & wellness activities

  • Continuous training programs (language, feedback, time management, remote work...)

  • Regular events with the whole team (monthly all-Hands meeting, monthly team-building event, off-sites ...)

About us

Tarides is an international software company with offices in Cambridge (UK), Paris (France), and Chennai (India), founded in 2018 by pioneers of systems and functional programming. We have a worldwide presence with collaborators working remotely from the US, Australia, Canada, India, Japan, and Europe. We have a solid academic background with connections to the University of Cambridge, Inria, and IIT Madras. Our diverse team of 70+ people performs groundbreaking innovation, feature development, and crucial maintenance of OCaml-based projects.

Some of those projects include the OCaml Platform, a series of crucial tools for OCaml at an industrial scale; MirageOS, an operating system that constructs unikernels for secure, high-performance applications; Irmin, a library for building mergeable, branchable distributed data stores, and the highly complex and award-winning Multicore project which will become part of the mainline OCaml compiler.

Tarides was previously part of the Founder program of Station F in 2018, and was selected for the “Concours d’Innovation i-Lab” organised by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in partnership with Bpifrance. Tarides was also recognized during the FIC (International Cybersecurity Forum) 2020 fair, the leading European event on cybersecurity. These awards acknowledge the high quality of the solutions developed by Tarides, and emphasise the interest they have gained from the cybersecurity community.

In 2022, OCaml Labs (a spinout from the University of Cambridge) and Segfault Systems (a spinout from IIT-Madras) joined Tarides, aligning towards our mission: empowering developers, communities, and organisations to adopt OCaml as their primary programming experience by providing training, expertise and development services.
